Recreation Programs
Join in the STOP Sports Injuries movement and become an official participating sports and recreation organization by downloading a brief agreement and filling out the form below. This form signifies that your organization meets the designated criteria and that your organization will promote the activities to help address sports trauma and overuse prevention.
There are four categories of involvement for sports organizations, including:
- National Governing Bodies – An organization responsible for overseeing and coordinating a sport on a national level.
- Sports Leagues – A federation of sports teams, generally affiliated with an NGB in that sport. Sports Leagues can be national, regional, professional, scholastic or amateur.
- Sports Teams – Amateur, scholastic, recreational or professional teams participating in a sports league.
- Recreation Programs – National and community recreation and fitness programs that sponsor events, camps or other activities that are formally affiliated with an incorporated entity.
The outlined/downloadable participation agreement provides a basic foundation upon which sports and recreation organizations can promote athletic safety as part of their activities. Review the starter list of involvement activities and ideas and then develop additional ways to promote injury prevention as a part of youth sports.

Coach Deck

The OnDeck Newsletter was created by CoachDeck to be a constant source of education and information for all CoachDeck leagues, players and parents. Keeping everyone in the game, on and off the field. CoachDeck cards were created to assist the millions of hard-working youth sports volunteers and parents who would like to help players learn important skills and fundamentals though fun drills and games. The time commitment involved in coaching is enormous, and sometimes it is not possible to thoroughly prepare for each practice. Designed by professional coaches, the drills in CoachDeck can be performed by players from 6-16 and are laid out in a fast, easy-to-understand format that allows you to conduct an extremely effective clinic with little or no preparation. Because the Deck is portable, you'll always have it with you. The nearly infinite number of drill combinations you can create means kids will never get tired of the "same old practice".
Inside each deck you will find 52 color-coded drills. Nearly every drill contains a unique, "Make it a Game" feature that will ensure your players want practice to go on forever. Each Deck also contains two double-sided instructional cards on Safety, Terminology, Practice and How to Use CoachDeck. We're sure that once you use CoachDeck you'll wonder how you ever did with out it and, you'll agree, that A Perfect Practice is in the Cards, with CoachDeck.

Healing Exercise

Our company has two main branches.
We teach the special exercise known as "the internal martial arts;" you might know Tai Chi, but not BaGuaZhang and XingYi Chuan. We understand this type of exercise to be more beneficial, safer, and certainly more sustainable than the strength and fitness exercises like lifting weights and running. Clearly, our exercise is gentler and more suitable for injured athletes. Our crowning achievement was teaching the U.S. Men's Alpine Ski Team in the summer of 2004. Ted Ligety was the best student in the group and has gone on to an illustrious athletic career including winning a gold medal in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino. We have trained a number of other athletes who have similar success stories.
We have developed a series of five DVDs which encompass the entire range of human physicality, from the most feeble of the elderly to top-echelon athletes. These DVDs can be viewed on our website: http://www.HealingExercise.org.
Planet Athlete

We are a nonprofit organization that hosts national level high school and prep school tournaments and showcases throughout the USA. We founded the National Post Grad Athletic Conference.
Becoming a True Champion

Becoming a True Champion is a website dedicated and designed to help inspire and motivate athletes to seek out their athletic as well as their inner potential. Its major focus centers on making a difference in the loss of perspective and "winning at all costs" attitudes so prevalent at many levels of sports and youth sports today, to provide a better understanding on how true athletic success is attained (or success in anything for that matter), to help give athletes, parents, and coaches the tools needed for that success, and to demonstrate the life application and intrinsic value that is attainable through healthy sports experiences.
Becoming a True Champion accomplishes these worthwhile goals through literary works at Kirk Mango's Tribune Chicagonow blog "The Athletes Sports Experience: Making a Difference," www.chicagonow.com/the-athletes-sports-experience-making-a-difference, and through his forthcoming book "Becoming a True Champion: Achieving Athletic Excellence From the Inside Out" (Rowman & Littlefield, 2012), www.becomingatruechampion.com.

CrossFit Kids

Since Late 2004 CrossFit Kids has been forging the Future of Fitness and is currently in hundreds of gyms in North America, Australia, Europe, Africa, India, Japan and Panama. CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for kids and teenagers and helps them develop a lifelong love of fitness. In a group setting, children and teens participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well- rounded athletes. With a network of over 2000 CrossFit Kids Trainers, CrossFit Kids is being implemented in preschools to high schools with before-and-after school programs and integration into Physical Education curriculum. CrossFitKids.com contains thousands of archived workouts, video demonstrations and informative articles that provide interested parents or teachers with a foundation for understanding how the CrossFit Kids program can be implemented at home or at school.
CrossFit Kids workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scalable for any participant at any level. What does this mean? This means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so kids and teens never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating. The functional movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things that kids need to do when they play-pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of thoroughly trained CrossFit Kids Trainers. When fitness is defined as broad, inclusive and general it means that participants will become well-rounded athletes who will be better at any and every sport that they play because CrossFit Kids doesn't coach them to be good at just one thing. Our workouts will increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.
