Taylor Hooton Foundation

The Taylor Hooton Foundation was formed in memory of Taylor E. Hooton, a 17-year old high school athlete from Plano, TX. Taylor took his own life on July 15, 2003 as a result of the use of anabolic steroids. This Foundation was founded by the parents, family and friends of Taylor after his death when the founders became aware of the magnitude of a growing problem among high school and college students across the US and Canada--the illegal use and abuse of anabolic steroids as an appearance and performance enhancement drug in addition to the abuse of other APEDs by our kids. They discovered that this is a serious problem among young athletes and non-athletes, and learned that young people and their parents are generally ignorant of either the prevalence of or the real dangers of these powerful drugs.
The mission of the foundation is to raise awareness about the widespread use of steroids and other appearance and performance enhancing drugs (APEDs) by the youth of America. Further, our purpose is to educate youth and their adult influencers about the dangers of steroids and other APEDs.

Gotham City Orthopedics, LLC is a certified ImPactTM testing center and provides these testing services at their Jersey City, Englewood, and Clifton, NJ locations.
Rush for a Cause

Making a Difference in the lives of catastrophic injured student-athletes, raising awareness for the need and helping promote injury prevention.
The ultimate goal of our organization, through the generosity of donors and sponsors, is to provide a support system that helps the injured student-athlete to accept, cope, adjust and move forward in their lives in a productive way. We provide hope and solutions.
Inspired after learning about a nearby high school football player who was paralyzed during a Friday Night Football game, a 17-year old high school football running back turned his empathy into action.
He wanted to Make A Difference.
He founded the 501c)(3) charity where the concept is “Athletes Helping Athletes”. Athletes in any scholastic sport fundraise (i.e. running backs/quarterbacks collect pledges for every yard they “rush” or simply via donations) to help their fellow student-athletes who, as a result of a catastrophic sport injury, have had their world turned upside down. These injured athletes and their families’ lives are changed forever.
The reality is that life moves on, however, not for them, or at least as they knew it. They are left to cope and adjust physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.
Rush For A Cause reminds them that others have not forgotten and are there to assist them as they migrate through the journey and life of a catastrophic injured student-athlete.
